Create a Channel in Microsoft Teams

Channel Information

Below Teams, are Channels. For                         example, “General” is a channel.

Channels are extremely useful for                     organization within a Team of                            Microsoft Teams.

Creating Channels

Channels within a Team can be created by selecting the three dots to the right of the Team name, and “Add Channel.”

When creating channels, there is an option to create the channel as Private – invite only, or Public – anyone can access.

An example would be “Management” – Private, and “Staff” – Public.

Private channels will not be visible for Team members unless they are added individually.

Note: For Private channels, members must be added individually to allow access

You may add Members to channels by selecting the three dots to the right of the channel name, and select Add Members.
